Job Description
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:- Support the work of the project (PHC) and WHO Representative's Office by performing driver and messenger functions. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:1. Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items. Distribute mail to government departments, UN agencies, embassies and consulates. 2. Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate formalities as required. 3. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water battery, tires, etc., perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean. 4. Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.; and ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident. 5. Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills
-Completion of primary education
-Drivers license recognized locally and appropriate to drive the type of vehicle(s) assigned.
-Knowledge of local traffic rules and regulations and chauffeur courtesies.
-Knowledge of and skill in basic vehicle maintenance plus ability to perform minor repairs.
-Knowledge of first aid sufficient to provide assistance in the case of accident.
-Safe driving record and at least two years of work experience as a driver in a similar environment.
-Good knowledge of local language(s).
-Sufficient knowledge of English to be able to communicate with visitors/staff and read instructions.
